Prelude to a Blue Moon Super Moon Blood Red Lunar Eclipse

Moon rise tonight was beautiful less than twelve hours before the blood red total lunar eclipse. For information on where to see it in your area, check out this link.

Happy viewing (or sleeping in 🙂 )

  1. Bloody super moons seem to be quite common these days, so this one decided to be blue to be a bit different.

    1. Hi, Tim. We have been very fortunate to be able to see so many great celestial happenings in an area with generally clear skies. The light hazy clouds tonight gave the moon rising a nice glow. I hope tomorrow is clear.

  2. That is a beautiful image, Susan! I am counting on you and Tim to show readers this month’s super moon. No moon viewing up here tonight; It’s raining. The forecast is the same for tomorrow. Lots of happy Pacific chorus frogs though!

    1. Hi, Lavinia. Thank you. Tim for sure will have pics. I’ve set out my tripod and put the lens on the camera. I’ll see if I wake up in time 🙂 Sorry you won’t see it, but I have to say some rain would be welcome. Thanks for stopping by!
