Those of you who know me from Norman probably don't know that both sides of my family are long-time Texans. The first OU-Texas game she went to, my mother stood up in the middle of the OU section when the Texas band started playing "The Eyes of Texas." Reflex! My son and I have been hard at work on our family tree, with great assistance from the Texas State Genealogical Society. For football, everyone is "Sooner born and Sooner bred." But my son has embraced his Texas heritage in all other respects, and I think my father would be pleased about that and that we are uncovering things hidden in the mist of time.
