The 2016 Balloon Fiesta has ended, after what was a truly glorious week. Susan thanks for sharing your images of the balloon fiesta. I was unable to attend this year but enjoyed your sharply focused, colorful, well composed images. I especially enjoy seeing some of the new special shapes and knowing that some of the older ones have returned. Their whimsical nature really tickles me.

I had not been in four years, and the forecasts made the first Sunday seem like the complete opposite of a perfect storm. I decided almost on a whim to go. I’ve never been on a better day, and I felt like I had been given a real gift. So much whimsy, and also so much beauty. Balloons I had only seen tethered and inflated were flying. I appreciate very much your taking the time to look at the images and to comment. 🙂

I thought this year’s Balloon Fiesta was among the best, because the weather was so perfect. I remember being out on the balloon field and freezing! The temps were perfect, and little wind on most days. I *almost* did not go, and was so glad I did.
